Created in 1977, the Centre International de Langue Et Civilisation (CILEC) is the centre specialised in teaching French as a foreign language at the Jean Monnet University of Saint-Etienne. It offers summer courses, a semester course validated by the University Diploma of French Studies (DUEF) and an annual course (Preparatory Course for the Master FLE) validated by a University Diploma of French Studies (level C1) and a FLE certificate.
Saint-Etienne, a city renowned for its welcoming culture, is also the cheapest city in France. Taking advantage of its proximity to Lyon (45′ by train), Saint-Etienne is an ideal entry point for visiting the Alps, the French Riviera or Paris.
